Perspective: One and
Two-Point Used to Your Advantage
5 weeks (2 hour class)
Randy reviews one point and two point perspective and
how they can be used to enhance your work. If incorrect in your drawing,
objects drawn in perspective can detract from the composition. Emphasis will
be to get the perspective right before you spend valuable painting time with
detail and color. A great drawing results in a great painting! Topics
covered will include: One and Two Point Perspective, Perspective applied to
Landscape Painting & Still Life, Quick Method for Laying out Ellipses in
Perspective, Layout of Proportional Objects, Atmospheric Perspective, Planar
Perspective.
One Day Workshop -
Sketching & Painting the Architecture of Manchester
Learn how to simplify architectural elements and
identify compositional problems when drawing and painting architecture.
Randy does a brief demo en plein air should weather permit (from reference
photos should it not) that is followed by students composing their own
architectural scene. On location or using reference photos of their own or
the instructors, the emphasis will be on value, color, stroke, perspective
(aerial and technical) to simplify structural elements
when depicting buildings in your work. Feel free to bring sketches
or paintings that you may have questions with or would like to expand
on. Medium either oil or pastel.
